Farewell 2009, you will be missed.

It seems this past year of 2009 has gone by quite swiftly. I have compiled a list of why 2009 was so wonderful and why it will be truly missed.
  • We got to go to New Mexico and hang out with wonderful people on New Years. Although our car broke down on the way there, it ended up being ok because we got a new to us car!
  • We started planning our trip to Europe. I always love the beginning of exciting plans.
  • One of my best friends, Desiree, got married to her eternal companion in the Snow Flake Temple.
  • I turned a whopping 22 years old!
  • We had a great trip to San Diego for our 2 year wedding anniversary!
  • We tried out weight watchers so we could live a healthier lifestyle. We soon found out it wasn't for us, but it definitely taught us a lot about what we were putting in our bodies.
  • We got to go to Seattle to see my brother Brant graduate from College.
  • We met our awesome new friends, Andy and Ashley. We ♥ them.
  • We started playing Tennis with our new friends.
  • We started going back to school and realized it wasn't so bad after all.
  • We discovered Glee and it soon became a new obsession (for me anyway).
  • We got to go to Disneyland with our awesome new friends for my first time ever and Tommy's 25th birthday!
  • I got a new awesome camera.
  • My sister Carla had her perfect little boy Connor.
  • We got to go back to B-town New Mexico to visit my parents and make a trip to the Bar-D Chuckwagon.
  • My Photo was chosen to be on a Jones Soda bottle.
  • We went camping with Tommy's family before Tommy's brother Taylor goes on his mission.
  • We had a wonderful holiday season with lots of food, love, and family.
Reasons I'm looking forward to 2010:
  • Um, hello, our trip to Ireland, Scotland and England!
  • Our 3rd wedding anniversary and the time that Tommy says we can get new kitchen pans!
  • Finding out more about myself and how much I love my husband.
  • Developing my photography skills and business.
  • Starting a family.

Christmas Photo Shoot!

A couple days after Thanksgiving, we had a short photo shoot for our Christmas cards. It was a super windy day but my sister-in-law Charlotte was able to get some really good pictures for us anyway. I didn't post the one we are going to be using, you will just have to be surprised!

Thank you Charlotte, we love you!

Tommy's Headshots

I've been practicing my headshots for future shoots on Tommy. I still have to work on lighting but he is a good model and a good sport. Here is the contact sheet from our shoot.

This Weekend

We had a wonderful photo shoot with our pregnant friends Tanya and David. It was so much fun, they are super cute.

Last weekend we went camping up in the Prescott National Forest. I was afraid it was going to be really cold but the weather was very nice. We had a very good time cooking, eating, hiking, playing games, and sleeping - a lot. It really felt like fall. The brisk wind, the changing leaves - I've really been missing that lately. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Halloween!

We had so many great ideas on what we were going to be for Halloween this year. We even started buying the accessories we needed months ago. Then we procrastinated. Then we ran out of money. Then we ran out of time. Then we went as nerds because lets face it, it's pretty much the easiest costume in the world and everyone can be a nerd. However, not everyone can pull it off quite like Tommy can :)

black dress, pink tights, and a couch.

Today after church Tommy and I stopped at this empty lot on out way home. It's kind of odd, we think there used to be a house there or something. Now all that is left is some strange ruins and a couple old couches. Tommy thought it would be the coolest place for pictures so we tried it out. What do you think?

I decided I like the contrast between these two photos.

Whoo Hoo!

So I got this letter in the mail yesterday. You see the part where is says only 1% of the photos submitted are selected? Well I am one of those lucky 1%! Keep an eye out for my photo on the low calorie Pomegranate Jones Soda!

Look what I made!

I got this idea from Made By Girl. Mine is a little different than hers cause I must have cut my letters a little bigger and I couldn't shove them all right next to each other like she does. I will call mine original. I put it up on my wall right above my magnet board that I made at Super Saturday last year. What do you think?

The Bar-D Chuckwagon

While we were in New Mexico, we took a trip up to Durango to go to the Bar-D Chuckwagon. It's a family tradition every year to go and we all love it.

First we walked around and visited the little shops and looked at the scenery. Then, there is dinner - a nice country style dinner with barbecue chicken or beef, baked beens, apple sauce, and a biscuit. Yummy deliciousness.

Then there is the show. Four or five guys singing folksy country songs. Even a person that doesn't like country music will tap their foot. It's a great time.

My Mother's Garden

New Mexico really is beautiful in September. Everything is still green, the peaches are ripe and falling from the trees, and the flowers are fully bloomed. My parents yard is just wonderful that time of year.

Trip to B-Town

So I realize that this trip was in September but I've been really busy so get off my back :)
For Labor day weekend, Tommy and I went to New Mexico for a visit. I can never stay away for very long, I just love my parents way too much! Plus, I always get to see at least 10 people I know every time I go to the mall.

We drove through Flagstaff like usual. I always like going through there, it's so beautiful in the mountains.

We stopped at Taco Bell because we love it and we don't care who knows it.

While in Farmington, we drove by this famous sign. Needless to say, I never see many cars outside this store :)

This is my friend Amanda. We were best friends in Junior High and since then have been constantly moving around. We find a way to keep in touch and I always try and see her when I go home.

Bar-D Chuckwagon photos to come!!

the love of my life wrote me a poem

and this is what it said:

Sometimes I don't understand,
Sometimes we don't agree,

Sometimes we get in fights,
Sometimes you're mad at me.

Sometimes I say I'm sorry,
Sometimes you don't believe,

Sometimes I like to stay with you,
Sometimes you drool on my sleeve.

Sometimes I hold your hand,
Sometimes I hold two,

Sometimes I take too long,
Sometimes I wait for you.

Sometimes I try my best,
Sometimes I don't succeed,

Sometimes I look at you,
Sometimes that's all I need.

Sometimes I don't remember,
Sometimes I'm a butt-head

Sometimes I think of how things are,
Sometimes my face turns red.

Sometimes I talk a lot,
Sometimes I listen to you,

Sometimes I have too much to say,
Sometimes that is true.

You always listen to what I need,
You always care about me,

You'll be there for me always,
You'll stay with me please.

You're smile warms my heart,
You're face lights up my day,

I love you forever and always,
No matter what I say.

I love it with all my heart. I love him with all my heart. I love us.
Thank you baby, I love you.

Sweet Baby Connor

So here they are. I may have gone overboard but I just couldn't help it, my new nephew is just too adorable. I especially love the ones with Carla in them. Let me know what you think.
