5 Months!

So this post is about 2 weeks late.
Things have been CRAZY around here.
I knew you'd understand!

So this last month, baby Cameron has been learning a lot of new tricks!

He can roll over both ways.
He can scoot crawl anywhere he wants to go, and he's gotten progressively faster (this is sometimes dangerous for us)!
He can sit up for a short time on his own.
When we put a cloth on his face and say "where's Cameron?" he pulls it off and gives us a big smile. He will also pull a cloth off of mom and dad's face with the same result!

He is such a sweet happy boy and we love him so much!

Everybody likes you when you're 24

I was thinking today about my age.
24.
Not old. Not young. Just right.
I also thought about what I have accomplished so far.
I am a mom to a perfect little boy, I am a wife to the best husband, I am a daughter and sister to the best family (not that I can really take credit for that), I have a job that I love, a wonderful house, and I have the gospel in my life.
All these wonderful blessings and more.
Everything is great, now that I am 24.

My awesome birthday present from my boys.

Stripe Skirt

Why oh why, does this skirt have to be $160?
My sewing skills need to increase exponentially, like now.

Book Club

If you asked me a few years ago if I ever thought I would be apart of a book club, the answer would have been a definite no.
I don't exactly know what has changed, but I have developed quite a love for the written word.
Recently, I have picked up The Book Thief.

My sister in law Candace also has a love of books and so we decided to start an online book club since we live so far away from each other.
If you would like to join our book club, we would love to have you!

Many of those things include crafting, recipes, and just random posts... haha. But today I would like to share a Silhouette SD crafting tutorial with you... Let's just say, I LOVE this thing! There's SO much you can do with it...

Two Hippies

When Tommy and I first got married, we lived in an apartment in downtown Phoenix.
We loved downtown because it was close to work and an overall pretty convenient place to live.
Even though there were lots of cool places around us, we were lame.
We didn't go anywhere, and we didn't eat at all of the super cool restaurants that were close.
I have decided this needs to change!
So, from time to time, since Tommy and I are still working in the same place downtown, we've decided to go on lunch dates to cool places around work that we were too lame to go to before.
Today we went to Two Hippies.
They have really yummy burgers and fries and it's pretty inexpensive.
Just so you know, in case your planning on going, they only take cash.

How to make a photo header using Picasa

For this header tutorial for the Better Blog Series we will be using a program called Picasa.
If you are not already using Picasa to organize your photos, you need to download it. Like now.
It's free and easy to use.

Step 1:
Open Picasa, select your photos, and hit collage.

Step 2:
Select Picture Pile and give them each a Polaroid frame.

Step 3:
Move and resize them so they fit properly at the top of your collage box.

Step 4:
Click Create Collage.

Step 5:
In Basic Fixes, crop off your excess edges.

Step 6:
Add your text and click apply.
The good thing about using Picasa while making headers is, you can use any font you have on your computer to add to the header.
So just go out and find some fun fonts! I really like THIS site.
If you don't know how to download a font, just let me know.

Step 7:
Save your header and upload it!

*note I like to combine my resources to create headers.
For my current header, I made the dot line in Picnik, saved it with a border and added the text in Picasa.
Easy as pie!

Fabric Necklace

I had this idea in my head to make this sort of necklace.
I got this cute fabric from a little shop on Bainbridge Island outside of Seattle and I really wanted to do something cute with it.
I took some extra wooden beads I had, twisted them in the fabric, and tied a knot after each one.
It turned out a lot better in my mind but I don't think it's that bad.
What do you think?

My Favorite Things on Etsy part 2

Part 2 of my favorite things on Etsy.com
I am constantly coming across things I love. How could I not share them with you??
Hope you love them as much as I do!

1. Large Wooden Ampersand I'm planning a sort of collage in my stairwell after I paint it. This would be perfect! Too bad it's $125...
2. French Macarons Isn't the new macaroon craze awesome?! They are so beautiful.
3. Framed Oval Chalkboard This shop has tons of awesome little chalkboards. They are super fun!
4. Rosette Necklace Similar to the headband I posted last time, this is a necklace that would go with many of my outfits. (uh-hem, Tommy)
5. Floral Earrings I love floral studded earrings. These would go great in my collection!
6. Necktie Wallet Almost the coolest thing I've ever seen! This lady seriously makes wallets out of old ties. Awesome!
7. Happily Ever After Print I love letterpress art. This is just so simple, it's perfect.
8. Love Banner I think this would be a great item to add to my engagement and wedding photo shoots! Really  cute!
