I love Stripes!

I want to paint stripes in my stairwell.
Vertical gray ones.
It will be fabulous. Just you wait and see.
When I finally stop putting it off, it will be great.
All of the other stairwells will be jealous.

Here is a cool one, though I am not brave enough for orange.

Too funny not to post

Most of you have probably seen my twitter or facebook post about this but I thought I would share the whole story because it's just too funny.

Yesterday evening I was at a friends house taking head shots of him for some acting gigs he has coming up.
As I was taking pictures of him in a grassy area, I stepped on a step stool that suddenly sunk into the newly watered ground.
I slipped and fell right on top of the stool. It looks a bit like this:

It hurt. Really bad.
I took a break to make sure I was ok and then continued the shoot.
When we got home my chest was still in quite a bit of pain so Tommy suggested we ice it.
We didn't have ice so he gave me a bag of frozen peas.
I fell asleep with the bag and woke up in the middle of the night and told Tommy to go put it back in the freezer.
When we woke this morning, I asked him if he put the bag in the freezer and he said he couldn't remember.
We looked everywhere for it. All around the bed, in trash cans, under clothes - it was nowhere to be found.
We decided to continue getting ready for work and figured we would find it later.
As we were getting ready, Tommy opened the medicine cabinet to get his deodorant and there it was!

Apparently in the night, Tommy thought that the medicine cabinet was the freezer.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does crazy things when I'm pregnant :)

Random Things About Alisha Friday!

I did a post similar to this a while back and I decided that we should all embrace the unique or "weird" things about ourselves.
So from now on, as I come up with them, I will be posting weird things about me!
Also feel free to make your own list and send me a link.
I would love to read all of the weird things about you!

1. I love gummy snacks.
2. I used to be a blonde but brown hair makes people take me more seriously.
Don't worry, I still have fun ;)
3. I love wearing colorful tights.
4. I think that when I write with a fine tip sharpie my handwriting is better.
5. I often sing and dance in the elevator when no one else is in there.
6. I like macaroni and cheese in a box with taco bell hot sauce. My brother taught me this :)
7. I am an ace at the game "Bookworm." My best word is "Crochets."
8. My sister used to tell me that McDonald's was made out of worms and I believed her.
9. When I'm really tired, Tommy will give me a piggy back ride up the stairs to bed.
10. Last night I had a dream about lots and lots of sweets and goodies. So many I couldn't even eat one of everything. It was beautiful.

Fish "eye"

Another cool feature of Tommy's phone is this fisheye camera.
I played with it today and it is awesome!
The lighting is funky and I look almost sick but I think it's cool anyway.

We Dance in the Rain

Who says we're too old to get into our swimsuits and run around in the rain?

Random Things About Alisha

I put together a list of random things about me that you may not know and/or care about but that I thought were interesting and/or funny. You be the judge.

1. I sleep with a teddy bear. His name is Winston.
2. I never let the lack of talent stop me from doing anything.
3. I always rip tags of off clothes instead of cutting them and I let the plastic pieces fall on the floor for Tommy to step on later (he hates this).
4. I can tell you the abbreviation for every state and province in the United States and Canada.
5. I have a hard time knowing when to use "then" and "than."
6. I love to watch the Disney Channel and I am not ashamed.
7. I'm addicted to Sudoku.
8. I almost never buy anything unless it is on sale (with the exception of food).
9. I hate to swallow medicine, in fact, my daily multivitamin is a gummy.
10. I got a sewing machine for Christmas but I'm not confident enough to use it yet.
11. I still use the term "butt munch."
12. Sometimes I dream that I have blonde hair and an English accent.
13. My eyes are almost always bigger than my stomach when I order food.
14. I have a rubber goldfish and a soapstone beaver on my desk at work.
15. I don't think that any piece of me is original. My thoughts and ideas come from a combination of every person I have ever met and ever picture I've ever seen all molded in my brain to create me.

Sunday Afternoon Picnic

It was a beautiful Valentine's Day for a picnic. We made soup and grilled cheese sandwiches - not good for a picnic. Though we only went to the park across the street, we spilled the soup and the sandwiches were soggy. We still had a good time cuddling, which always makes things better.

A Mustache is a Marvelous Thing

We haven't played much with our studio since we've had it so today we cut out paper mustaches and had a fun studio shoot. We had a hard time not laughing the whole time. They look amazingly ridiculous, don't you think?

Fill in the blank Friday

Every once in a while, I like to explore blogland and see what cute things are going on. This fill in the blank Friday post came from "the little things we do" which I found from a new blog I follow called "champagne bubbles" so here I am, filling in the blanks.

1. If I weren't a staff assistant I'd love to be a photographer and a mom .

2. When I'm super upset I often cry or get a twitch in my eye .

3. My favorite thing about myself is my desire to be crafty .

4. If I found a $100 in the pocket of last winter's coat I'd spend it on shoes or clothes or things for my house or things for my trip .

5. Even though some people might consider this a flaw, I love my damaged uneven lips - they give me character .

6. I love the way I feel when I get to spend the whole day with Tommy doing nothing .

7. I love my hair most when it's smooth enough for Tommy to run his fingers through while I put my head on his lap .

You all can join if you'd like...

Have a great weekend!!

So I got this letter in the mail yesterday. You see the part where is says only 1% of the photos submitted are selected? Well I am one of those lucky 1%! Keep an eye out for my photo on the low calorie Pomegranate Jones Soda!

Corn Field

So next door to our humble abode there is a lovely corn field. I've been wanting to take pictures in it ever since it started growing. We waited for the right time when the corn was just tall enough. Tommy is great at taking pictures. Aren't they wonderful?

Fun in the Sun

Today was a super hot day so Tommy and I decided to take advantage and go for a light swim. After the initial shock of the cold water, it turned out to be very nice. Just thought I'd share it with ya'll.

Tote Bag Tutorial

JCaroline Creative just posted a tutorial on how to make your own tote bag. Click Here to check it out! If I had a sewing machine, I would be all over this in a second.
Maybe I'll borrow Mechelle's...

Love you all!

Pola.

I found this earlier when I was browsing also. I love Polaroid pictures and now you can have them without carrying around the big old block of a camera that they discontinued. You have to download it but it is free and fun!
