Things We All Remember

Here are some pictures of the town my grandparents live in. As children, my family spent a lot of time in this wonderful place. I thought I would capture some of the things that we know and love.

On your way into town, this is the first thing you see. It always makes me so excited to pass this sign.

This is the church we all go to on Sundays. It looks different from when we were young but it is still beautiful.

This is the old school house in town. They don't use it for school anymore or for anything really, but it is nice to look at.

This is a picture of my grandfathers handmade airplane mobile. He hand crafted each of these planes himself. They are wonderful.

My grandparents house. Many memories are made here.
Laundry on the line. There is no need for a dryer.

The entrance to my grandparents property.

More pictures of Luna still to come :)

Trip up the Coast

So I realize that we are still planning our trip to the UK. There is still a lot to plan for that trip but don't worry, I am still working on it (it's harder then you think).

Just yesterday when I was sitting at my desk and looking at the map next to me, I decided that I wanted to take a trip up the west coast. In my mind it will happen probably the summer of 2011. Tommy thinks we might have a mini-me running around at that time and that would be ok, we'll drag 'em along.

So here is the itinerary I came up with in like five minutes and I think it might just work:

Day 1: Leave Avondale, AZ at 6am
Drive 10 Hours and arrive in Salinas, CA
Day 2: Leave Salinas at 6am
Drive 10 hours and arrive in Coos Bay, OR
Day 3: Leave Coos Bay
Drive 5 hours and arrive in Portland, OR
Day 4: Leave Portland
Drive 3 hours and arrive in Bremerton, WA
Day 5: Stay in Bremerton
Day 6: Leave Bremerton
Drive 10 hours and arrive in Twin Falls, ID
Day 7: Stay in Twin Falls
Day 8: Leave Twin Falls
Drive 9 Hours and arrive in Las Vegas, NV
Day 9: Stay in Las Vegas
Day 10: Leave Las Vegas
Drive 5 1/2 hours and arrive in Avondale, AZ

Lots of driving but I think it would be really fun.

Do you have any suggestions for places we should stop on the way?

Update on our trip

Ok so here we go. Tommy and I (mostly me) have been doing a lot of reading and planning for our awesome trip coming up next March. We are so excited!!

I have to tell you our somewhat tentative plans to explore the UK in only 10 days.

1. We will get to Dublin at 8am on the 11th of March. We decided to rent a car since public transportation there maybe difficult for our tight schedule. Since it only takes about two hours to drive from one side of the island to the other, we thought we would explore as much of it as possible.

The Blarney Castle is definitely on the list of places to go. I am determined to kiss the germiest place on the planet (Don't worry, I will sanitaze sufficiently afterward).

2. Scotland is second on the list. We plan on taking a ferry from Northern Ireland to Scotland and then visiting a few places there including some awesome castles and some old plagued cities I've heard about. We're still working on this one since I don't know anyone who has been there recently. However, if we have the time, Tommy thinks a nice trip up to Lochness to see Nessy may be nice.

3. On our way down to England, we plan on stopping in Manchester. There are a few estates used in Jane Austen movies that I've really wanted to see. Lyme park specifically. It's beautiful.

4. Obviously we can't go to England without seeing Stonehenge. Since it was, in fact, built by aliens.

5. Also inspired by Jane Austen, we plan on going to Bath. I've heard that it is a marvelous place with beautiful buildings. I can't wait to see it myself.

6. And last, but not least, we are going to spend the last couple days in London. My friend at work, who is from England, has told me some wonderful places to go and things to do while we are there. One, of course, is Buckingham Palace. Maybe the queen will have time for tea and crumpets after all.

That's right

I just made these earrings. That's right MADE them. Out of buttons! I have plans for all kinds but you'll have to wait for those.

(I'm sleepy)

4th of July!

For the 4th of July, Tommy and I went up to Bryce Canyon with our new friends Andy and Ashley. Ashley's dad built this awesome cabin on the top of a hill that had an amazing view. We had such a fun and relaxing time and it was really great to get away from all the heat down in the valley.

Here is the front side of the Cabin.

Here are Andy and Ashley on the balcony. They are such fun we just love hanging out with them. It's so great to finally have married friends.
On Saturday, we went into Knab, UT to do a little shopping and watch the fireworks that night. We first went to the local community park where most of the people in town were hanging out and waiting, eating and playing. It rained off and on but the result we these beautiful raindrops on the flowers. Plus, we all know how much I love daises.

There was also a great windmill right in the middle of the park. It was raining when I took this picture but there was a cloud burst right then. I loved it so much I decided I needed to share it with you.

After we left the park we walked around Knab for a while. We wanted to do a little shopping but most of the good stores were closed because of the holiday. We ended up going into a few tourist shops along with a western movie set museum. It was pretty cool and full of old movie sets and buildings.

At the end of the night, we went back to the park to watch the fireworks. They put on a great show and we had a great time.

Thank you Andy and Ashley for the great trip!!

My Handsome Husband

Tommy was so good looking today I had to take pictures of him. It's great when he shaves and lets me do his hair. I love him so much.
