Day 1: Dublin

Arrived at 9am super tired. Didn't sleep much on the plane.
Took a bus at €7 a piece to the center of town.
Walked, took pictures, and bought a tin whistle for Candace.
10am we started heading in the direction of our hotel and got lost.
Streets aren't marked well, or at all, and the map didn't help much.
Asked for directions and got lost again.
5 hours, 4 more Dubliner directions, and many miles later, we found the hotel.
We're staying at the Ardmore Hotel. Very north Dublin but nice area and nice rooms.
Sore throat from breathing in car fumes and cigarette smoke.
Checked in, took a shower, then a bath for for my sore legs.
Fell asleep in the bath, got out and fell asleep on the bed for two hours.
Woke up drowsy and nauseous.
Went to the pub downstairs for dinner.
Had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich and an unidentifiable yet still tasty soup and Tommy had spicy pasta while we watched soccer football and old men play dominoes.
Got tips on places to visit by an older drunk man who was barely understandable but entertaining.
Staying up as late as possible so we can sleep through the night.
We'll see.

Love all the homes and their colorful doors!

The Carlton! (that's my dad's name) It was a theater in town.

An old church under construction. Still amazing.
Tired Tommy on Grafton Street.

St Patrick's Cathedral. Beautiful place!

An awesome bridge in Dublin.

After 4 and a half hours of walking, we were about to give up.
We came up over the hill and saw this wonderful LDS church.
That is when we knew there was still hope.
Our hotel was less than a mile from there.

Finally, what you've all been waiting for!

Ok, this is how the trip re-cap is going to go:
While we were over there I wrote a journal entry every night so I wouldn't forget.
I will be posting the entry, along with the best pictures from that day.
If I am diligent, there should be a new post everyday or every other day.
Wish me luck!

Also!
Remember that post I wrote about what I wanted to be when I grow up?
Well, this super sweet girl who writes the blog Champagne Bubbles is doing a "When I Grow Up" series.
She came across my list and liked it and she was even awesome enough to post it on her blog!
Check it out HERE.

Our Last Day!

We leave tomorrow!
I can't believe it's finally here!
We have been saving and planning for this trip for over a year and here it is at our doorstep.
Who knew that when I put my mind to something, I could make it happen?

In case you missed where we are going:

Dublin, Ireland
Plus other places in Ireland.

Glasgow, Scotland

Things we still need to do before we go:

Do one more load of laundry.

Get snacks.
Find clever places to hide cash.

Fish "eye"

Another cool feature of Tommy's phone is this fisheye camera.
I played with it today and it is awesome!
The lighting is funky and I look almost sick but I think it's cool anyway.

Manual Focus

Last weekend we drove around and found this awesome place for photo shoots.
It's a little out of the way but totally worth it.
We stopped and played with the manual settings on my camera.
I think I almost got it down. Practice makes perfect I guess.
I really like the way they turned out.

Our Photo Shoot!

Recently we had a photo shoot with the fabulous Busy Bee Lauren.
Today, we got our pictures in the mail.
We love them!
I picked our favorites to show you here.
What do you think?
Aren't they fantastic?
Yes, yes they are.

Have you seen this?

Amazing.
